Rules

We only have a few very simple rules at Thousand Stars, and all of them are centered around encouraging you to develop your character and keeping the game going at a good pace!

1. Please try to be active. You should be regularly commenting to other's characters posts, tagging back at everybody who tags your character's post, and regularly offering a new post from your character at least once a month.
2. If you are unable to contribute to the community due to health issues or a busy period in your life, let the mods know! It's absolutely OK to take a break due to these issues - your health and life is more important than this game!
3. Be kind and courteous to other players!

Plot

Q. Where is the major setting?
A. Budehuc Castle.

Q. When does this RPG take place?
A. The current year is IS 475, six months after the Second Fire Bringer War.

Q. Where is Thomas?
A. As we do not have anyone playing Thomas yet, and a castle lord/manager needs to be present for plot purposes, Caesar will be looking after the castle until Thomas returns from a business trip (or whatever explanation his next mun decides on, we will leave it ambiguous until then).

Q. So is Thomas playable?
A. Absolutely! Feel free to apply for Thomas so Caesar can go back to napping happily.

Q. Is this a plot heavy RP?
A. This RP is based on character interactions mainly and the plot is built by you, the players. Having said that, we will try and create some story arcs on a few occasions to shake things up.




Posting

Q: What form do I post in when RPing?
A: All RPing in the main community is written in first person, with prose and actions written in brackets or asterisks. You may write differently if you are privately RPing in your character's journal, if you wish.

Q: Where does my character post?
A: Characters post to the thousand_stars community where most open interactions will take place. They may also post their private thoughts in their own journal, preferably in a cut post titled "Private thoughts" or something for simplicity's sake.

Q: Can the other characters read my character’s post in the main comm?
A. Yes, they are considered public and any character may respond to them.

Q: Can the other characters read my character’s post in the character's journal?
A. No. These are considered private and simply serve to give insight into your character's mind and impressions.

Q. What do I post in the main community?
A. Meta-threads for characters in the community. Meta-threads are useful in character introductions and minor interactions.

Q. What are meta-threads?
A. Meta-threads are RPs done in the comments of the post. These can be useful if muns are in opposite timezones.

Q. What can I post the OOC Community?
A. General discussion, announcements, player introduction, character introductions, fan art, fanfics, plot and subplot discussion... basically anything you want! :D



Applying for Characters

Q. How many characters can I play?
A. A. You can apply for one or even two at the start. Provided you remain active after one month of joining, you may even get a third. You can have a maximum of five characters as long as you're an active member of the community. These rules are subject to change depending on the game's activity as a whole.

Q: Can I make my own character?
A: There are no OC's in this RP, you may only apply for Suikoden characters that have had a videogame appearance.

Q. Can I play Suikoden Tierkreis characters?
A. Absolutely!!!

Q. My character has a beast. Can I spoof the beast?
A. Yes, provided someone else is not already playing it.



Playing Characters

Q. Does my character age?
A. Unless they bear a True Rune, they will indeed age.

Q. I want to start a major plot within the castle, can I do it?
A. Definitely! As long as it's not a plot that dramatically changes the landscape or kills off characters, then it's strongly encouraged to start up something and get everyone involved.

Q. What information should I put in my character’s biography?
A. Just basic information about your character (age, hometown, etc.) and you can use the short biography from your application for the profile.

Q. Can my character open a business in the castle?
A. Yes they can, Master Thomas welcomes it!

Q. Can my character leave Budehuc castle to visit a town?
A. Yes.

Q. If I pick up a character that someone else once played, do I have to play the character the same way?
A. No. Characters that used to be played by a different mun are generally not referenced anymore and you're free to play them your way with a fresh start.
