News & Events Edition #8

Hey guys! I haven't made one of these posts for a while, but there's a lot to address that I just can't fit into plurk!

Plot End
It's finally over, thanks to everyone who participated in any capacity! My only regret is that it dragged too long. It didn't pan out exactly how we imagined it, and I know Julie definitely wanted to do something with Sierra, but it was time to wrap it up and move on to other things.
Really, I'm just glad we managed to see it through with what few active players we have left, you guys are seriously awesome.

Moderation
You guys have probably noticed by now, but our character list has gotten embarrassingly outdated. The truth is, I can't edit posts that have been made by Julie, so up until now I've just been prodding her to update them whenever we get the chance. What we should have done is create a shared mod account so we can both edit and update because it's THE OBVIOUS THING TO DO LMAO. But fear not, that mistake has already been corrected, in which I've already revamped and updated the character list, yay! All I need to do is re-post the other mod posts under the new account and make sure it's all properly linked.

Here's the shiny new character list.

Several characters have been removed from the previous list either due to massive inactivity (5+ months) or they dropped out. Looking at our big cast, I can see a few more that are on the chopping block in a few months.

Side note: I'm dumb and HTML is hard to do, so this whole transition may take a while. :')

The Future of Thousand Stars
Lately I've been thinking about the game's future again. Ideally I would like it to continue indefinitely seeing as how it's a well-established single fandom game, but on the other hand I have no qualms about closing it down since it had a better run than I could have ever realistically hoped for. In the end it all comes down to activity from both the players and the mods. November hasn't been kind activity-wise, and I know things will get even slower during the holiday season, because I expect everyone to spend time with their loved ones (myself included!). I will really start assessing the game between January/February around it's anniversary and see what happens I guess!

The biggest reason why this is all in the back of my mind is because I'll be traveling around Europe between July and October, so I will be on a 3-4 month hiatus. That means unless Julie steps up or the game is active enough without mod intervention, it will very likely die off regardless.

So, to summarize, I'll do a big official activity check around February 2015 and figure out where to take the game from there. Right now, I haven't decided on anything and we can presume the game will run indefinitely, but if I do decide on Thousand Star's fate, you can bet there will be some kind of endgame and I sure as hell wouldn't let it fizzle out. You guys have created a memorable experience for me and you deserve the same in return!
